History
Rooted in place, memory and landscape
Around 1940, the inhabitants of this small settlement — locally known as “houses behind the islet” — gradually left the village following the construction of the new regional road. Modernisation encouraged families to relocate closer to improved access routes and communication networks.
Time, weather and nature reclaimed the site, leaving the buildings partially destroyed and deeply marked by the Atlantic environment.
Casas de Incensos
